Implant acupuncture for Parkinson’s disease is more than promising. This is shown by long-term observation by specialists Dr. Rolf Wlasak and Dr. Stefan Lobner from Meerbusch near Düsseldorf. You have treated over 3,000 Parkinson’s patients with implant acupuncture and supported them for years. The result: Implant acupuncture via the outer ear can reduce Parkinson’s symptoms. Typical limitations such as tremor, muscle stiffness and slowness of movement can be reduced in many patients. “But our observations also show that not only did motor and physical functions improve, but that the clinical effectiveness also had an impact on drive and mood,” says Dr. Vlasak.

What is always pleasing for the medical team is the amount of positive feedback from patients. “Just recently, a craftsman contacted us who was suffering from tremors and muscle stiffness and then decided on implant acupuncture,” says Dr. Lobner. “He reported that his shaky hands had improved significantly and his movements had become more fluid again.”

“Our experience shows that the release of dopamine reduces the typical Parkinson’s symptoms in most patients. We were also able to reduce the medication over time for many patients. Both together lead to an improvement in the quality of life and an increase in well-being,” adds Dr. Vlasak.

And this is how implant acupuncture works: After a detailed discussion and a medical assessment of the patient’s individual situation, the doctors place tiny titanium implants at specific points in the patient’s ear in just one day of treatment. These imperceptible mini-implants remain permanently in these places, so that a permanent stimulation is created, which is intended to stimulate the central nervous system to release more of the happiness hormone dopamine and other important messenger substances in the brain.

After the completely bloodless implantation, the patients remain in contact with the practice by telephone for many months so that the doctors can coordinate the effectiveness of the treatment and the possible reduction in medication.

Implant acupuncture is used in particular for Parkinson’s disease, Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and dementia and is a non-drug procedure.
