A 14-year-old minor has been captured by investigators from the New York Police Department (NYPD) in connection to a shooting at the Mount Eden Avenue subway station in the Bronx. The incident resulted in the death of a Mexican immigrant and left five others injured, authorities reported.

The teenager, who remains unidentified due to his age, was charged with murder, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon following the gang-related shooting on Feb. 12 at the MT Eden station on line #4. He was also injured during the incident and is scheduled to be processed as a juvenile delinquent next Monday, according to police sources familiar with the case.

Earlier, 16-year-old Langel Jones was detained and is currently held without bail on murder charges in relation to the shooting. Jones, charged as an adult, was accompanied by a 15-year-old boy at the time of the incident, who is currently being sought by police.

Jones and the missing 15-year-old are reported to be members of the Block D gang, as confirmed by NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny. The altercation took place when the two encountered the 14-year-old, a member of the Burnside gang, during their commute on the train. The youngest among them was involved in a previous gang-related shooting on Jan. 15 against the D Block gang.

During the incident at the subway station, the three teenagers engaged in a shootout from different ends of the train before fleeing towards the platform. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to locate the third suspect involved in the shooting.
