A new blow to drug trafficking was dealt by the authorities in the department of Casanare, when they seized more than 10 kilos of cocaine base, which were transported by two men in a vehicle.
According to the police report, the discovery of the cache occurred at kilometer 78 of the Guateque – Aguaclara road, a sector known as El Secreto, when police personnel assigned to the Traffic and Transportation Section (Roads), through a search and control carried out at a car, they found in a bag two packages wrapped in black tape that contained 10,600 grams of cocaine base inside.
Immediately, the uniformed officers captured the two men who were traveling in the vehicle in flagrante delicto, for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
Those captured, aged 55 and 38, respectively, are from the municipalities of Santa María and San Luis de Gaceno (Boyacá), according to the authorities’ report.
The seized material, the immobilized vehicle and those captured were left at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office 15 section of Monterrey.
