A life in the Zenson Post Office. Renata Borin retires

Renata Borin, a life for the post office

The employee, hired in 1979, was an institution for the country. He suffered two robberies: “They pointed the knife at me to tear off my necklace”

ZENSON DI PIAVE. It was 1979 when Gianfranco Boscato took over the presidency of Zensonese Calcio. In that same year Renata Borin from Salgaredia was hired by the Italian Post Office and assigned to the Zenson Post Office.

Today, after 42 years, Boscato is still very active manager of the football association, while Renata Borin leaves her job due to age limits. One of the two “institutions” of the country ends, therefore, the career path, but it does so with the satisfaction and awareness of leaving a good memory to the residents who have seen her, for over four decades, first a simple employee and then director of the post Office.

«In this long period of time» explains Renata moved, «the world has changed and also the way the Post Office operates. When I was hired, the job mainly concerned the receipt and sorting of correspondence, today, however, everything is done in a post office and we are more and more like a bank counter. The commitment and concentration must be at the highest levels, so much so that we have the support of specialized consultants and we attend refresher courses ».

The worst memories certainly concern the two robberies suffered at the end of the last century, when they were still very frequent throughout the Region. The bandits once entered the Post Office armed with a pistol. The second had a long utility knife.

«On that occasion» remembers Renata bitterly «they pointed the knife to my neck and then tore off the gold necklace. A gesture of great violence that I will never be able to forget ». The best memory? «Certainly» the former director underlines «the relationship I had with the population. I have served, and I am proud of, three generations of Zensonesi. All good and good-hearted people, with whom I had a good relationship that I hope to cultivate even as a pensioner ».

But does Renata Borin know the president of the local football team? «Gianfranco Boscato» he replies «to Zenson it is an immovable institution, which will last for many more years».
