The Algerian national team stumbled against its Angolan counterpart, after they tied 1-1, this evening at the Bouake Stadium, in the framework of the first round of the fourth group of the African Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023.

In the 19th minute, striker Baghdad Bounedjah scored the Algerian national team’s goal before the Angola national team was able to adjust via Mapopolo in the 68th minute from a penalty kick.

The Algerian and Angola teams each earned one point from their 1-1 draw in today’s match, while the Burkina Faso and Mauritania teams will compete tomorrow in the second match in the first round of the same group.

The Cameroonian national team also suffered a stumble, which tied with its Guinean counterpart (1-1), in the match that brought them together, this afternoon, on the grounds of the Charles Konan Bani Stadium, Biamoussoukro, in the first round of the third group.

The Cameroonian team’s goal was scored by Franck Magri (51st minute), while the Guinean team’s goal was scored by Mohamed Bayo (10th minute).

The match referee issued a red card to Guinea player François Camano (45+3 minutes).

After this round, the Senegalese team topped the standings of Group C with three points, ahead of the Guinean and Cameroonian teams (one point each), after defeating the Gambian team (bottom of the standings without points) by three clean goals earlier today.

It is noteworthy that the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations witnesses the participation of 24 teams in six groups.
