A wood burns in Tolmezzo, the fire brigade helicopter intervenes

The complex shutdown operations in the hamlet of Cazzaso

UDINE. Intense work this week for the firefighters of the Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste and Udine commands to extinguish forest fires and brushwood. From Monday 21 March to Friday 25 March, in fact, there are about twenty outings by the Friuli Venezia Giulia firefighters for this type of intervention with different extensions of the fire front and on different types of terrain.

On the day of 25 March alone, the firefighters intervened on 9 forest or scrub fires, working in collaboration with the staff of the Regional Forestry Corps and the Aib (forest fire prevention) volunteers of the Civil Protection.

Activity carried out with the constant use of “Drago 71”, the helicopter of the Flight Department of the Venice fire brigade, which intervened more precisely in the Cazzaso hamlet, in the Municipality of Tolmezzo, where it performed various water jets on the flames that were burning a wood. In the same intervention, firefighters from the Tolmezzo detachment operated from the ground in collaboration with the staff of the regional Forestry Corps and AIB personnel of the Civil Protection.
