Abdul Wahab Al-Sharafi

For some time now, I have been following the ongoing debate and attacks against Sheikh Sultan Al-Sami, and let me admit that I preferred to observe them calmly and without interference or even exposure, perhaps due to my psychological tendency not to defend an official, but water is more than flour, as they say. It has become necessary to intervene to do justice to the man, because what he faces is one of the consequences of his adherence to what we essentially demand of running the country through institutions, and it is not right to leave him to the hyenas of darkness who are disturbed by this trend, and who want to continue playing behind a curtain to prey on him. That’s why I wrote.

Sheikh Sultan Al-Sami, a member of the Supreme Political Council, is currently, and has previously been, exposed to attempts to undermine and distort more than once, even though the prevailing situation is that all public financial and administrative actions are monopolized in the hands of specific people, and all those who occupy official positions with the right to direct or act have been reduced to mere decorative figures. The Political Council, the Council of Ministers, and the heads of institutions and bodies, all have a ceiling that they cannot exceed, and some do not even dare to act under their ceiling.

Sheikh Sultan is not responsible for an institution or a voluntary body. He is a member of a political council. Even the president of this council himself is governed by a ceiling, and the rest of its members no longer have anything but the symbolism of belonging to the supposed highest council in power. Indeed, some of them are not immune from practices of disobedience and even lack of appreciation from lower administrative levels.

.. Attempts to attack Sheikh Sultan Al-Sami fail for these two reasons: he is not the head of a voluntary institution, and the directives of the members of the Political Council are not passed and implemented, and therefore there is practically no room for attacking him, distorting him, and stigmatizing him as corrupt.

.. As much as these two reasons invalidate the magic of every magician in trying to harm him, as much as they raise a question, which is why the attempts to harm him and distort him, since he has no control over what he does, and the directives of the members of the Political Council do not pass through, and therefore he may do what he does not like.
.. The answer is that Sheikh Sultan is the person who refuses to be turned into a “denouncer” and does not accept the desire to turn him into a decorative figure.

.. The person in the Supreme Political Council who is closest to the people and the one who receives and interacts most with people’s complaints is Sheikh Sultan Al-Sami’i, and I mean here the people who are affected and subject to injustices. He issues directives on their requests notes as an official who occupies a position at the top of the hierarchy of the de facto authority in Sana’a, and I am confident that he does. This is despite his knowledge in advance that many of his directives will not be implemented, but he directs and directs in exercise of his right and by virtue of his position.
..But what excites the corrupt, the influential, and those who are submissive to others is that he directs and adopts any issues or grievances in which he appreciates the need for direct personal intervention or sees the need to follow up on them, or any grievance. His direction does not pass and the grievance that is wronged comes back to him again and again, and here with these cases the clash occurs.

.. The attempts to undermine Sheikh Sultan and the attempt to distort him are nothing but a reflection of his insistence that the regime and the existing authority have its presence and that the authority is not managed entirely from behind, and he does what he can to work from above the tables, and the official tables have the authority and responsibility in accordance with the law and the official structure of authority, that is, to be Administration is according to the general administrative structure announced to the people and not designed in the depths of offices.

.. The man I know is not prone to conflict, and we often receive criticism from him for the impulsiveness that he sees as excessive in some files if we meet him. That is, he is a man who is dominated by realism, but his realism is not to the point of submission and subservience, and not to the point of arrogance and “sorcerity,” that is, he is realistic, but within limits.

.. I am not at all surprised that he is subject to repeated attempts to undermine and distort, because he is almost the only man in the first levels of power who refuses to be domesticated and adheres to exercising his rights and fulfilling his responsibilities as much as he can, which is something that does not please those who hold the threads of power in the shadows and without appearing, monopolizing power and devoid of or hiding from it. Responsibility, and that is why they are casting their flies on him to launch their campaigns against him, and all of them have not succeeded. Sheikh Sultan is still the closest to the people and reconciled with the axes of power and rebelling against the attempts of the attackers to subjugate and domesticate him, and trying to amend what is possible without provocation except when necessary in any case.

The country is not going through a normal legal situation, as we are under de facto authorities, and there are cases of very widespread evasion of the law, but Sheikh Sultan remains the best in light of what exists, and there remains a thread to which those who seek to manage authority and not manage militias cling to it, and this is the best available in light of the reality that exists. We live it.
