Quetta: After torrential rains for the past few days, snowfall has started in some northern areas of Balochistan including Quetta and Mastung. Snowfall also occurred at Kan Mehtarzai, Muslim Bagh, Ziarat and Kozhak Top. The snowfall increased the intensity of the cold immensely.
Due to snowfall, there are problems in the flow of traffic on the highways. According to NHA, salt sprinklers and missionaries are being used to clear the snow from the highways.
Rain continued in several districts of Balochistan during the last 24 hours. Weather is likely to remain dry and cold in most districts of Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
On the other hand, PDMA Balochistan issued a report on the damage caused by rains in different districts of the province.
3 children died and one person was injured due to heavy rain in Kharan, 2 houses were destroyed and 5 houses were partially damaged due to rain. 50 houses were completely destroyed and 90 houses were partially damaged due to heavy rain in Gwadar. The rain has damaged the four walls of 15 houses and 2 roads.
According to the PDMA department, 5 houses were completely destroyed due to heavy rain in Kech, 20 were partially damaged. Meanwhile, 2 roads and 1 bridge in Kech were also affected by flood relay, also in Quetta. 2 houses were completely destroyed by heavy rain.
