The authorities announced that they will reinforce security measures for the mayor of Támara, William Forero, who has been the subject of threats from unknown people, which motivated the holding of a Security Council in his town, with the presence of all the authorities.
In this regard, Colonel Jaime Rey, commander (e) of the Casanare Police Department, indicated that once the local leader has been heard, a security study will be carried out by the Sijín, to determine the origin of the threats and establish with the National Unit of Protection the necessary actions to guarantee the safety of the burgomaster.
Given the latest events of public order disruption in the north of Casanare, the Security Council was held, where other commitments also emerged from the governor of Casanare César Ortiz Zorro, to guarantee tranquility in his homeland.
The construction of the municipality’s Police station remained as a commitment, since currently the uniformed officers are using the facilities of an old school as a garrison. The municipal administration will manage the studies and designs and the Casanare Government will provide the resources for construction.
The Casanare Air Group of the Colombian Air Force confirmed that it will intensify patrols with overflights throughout the department, while the National Army and the National Police will reinforce the presence with motorized platoons on the Marginal de la Selva road, and on the that leads to the municipality of Támara.
As recalled, Támara has not been immune to the threats of the commander of the dissidents of the 28th Front of the FARC, alias “Antonio Medina”, as in the past when he extorted the contractor of the Megacolegio that was built there and intimidated him with explosives.

Likewise, there was talk of the intention to move the military base that is currently on Cerro Santa Barbara to Cerro El Piojo, in order to convert Cerro Santa Bárbara into a tourist site due to the enormous potential it has in this regard. .
