A prostitute was robbed on Sunday night in an Airbnb near Antwerp Central Station. The woman was confronted by armed men, who took 10,000 euros from her and fled. The police started an investigation.
The emergency center received a call just after 2 a.m. on Sunday night for an armed robbery in Anneessensstraat, a side street of De Keyserlei. A 30-year-old Spanish prostitute stayed there in an Airbnb apartment.
“Three men entered the apartment and threatened the woman with a firearm,” said spokesperson Wouter Bruyns of the Antwerp police. The trio demanded money and jewelry from the woman and then fled. According to our information, the men stole about 10,000 euros.
The police immediately arrived on the scene, but a search of the area turned up nothing. “The victim was not injured, but was obviously shaken. She could be interrogated about the facts,” says Bruyns. The police started an investigation. The perpetrators are tracked down.
