From Amanda, directed by Carolina Cavalli – presented in 2022 at the Mostra del Cinema and at the Toronto Film Festival and now in theaters in the USA – to La Bella Estate by Laura Luchetti which will have its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. The Piemonte Film Tv Development Fund helps filmmakers, producers and professionals in the world of cinema to express their talent. This is the message that comes from the meeting, in the Paolo Tenna hall of the Turin Piedmont Film Commission, where “Wanna Get A Coffee?”, an auteur short film directed by Giorgio Ferrero and Donato Sansone and produced by MyBossWas, was presented.
“An auteur short film that we wanted to make to transpose the philosophy of our Piedmont Film TV Development Fund through images, which puts creativity, energy and talent at the center and helps to show the potential of the territory” explains the president of the Film Commission, Beatrice Borgia. “There is finally a breath of fresh air thanks to the Turin Piedmont Film Commission and the audiovisual supply chain. Piedmontese cinema is proving to be a driving factor, a driving force with a growing related business“.

“The Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation recognizes the Piedmont Cinema System as a driver of development with an important economic impact on the territory. Support for development has in fact produced, in various cases, the transition to the production phase, intercepting new investments and determining a high qualified expenditure on the territory” says Matteo Bagnasco, head of the Culture Objective of the Foundation which, as part of an agreement with the Region and the Film Commission, fully supports the fund for the two-year period 2023/2024 with a budget of 700,000 euros. Added to these resources are those put in place by the Region which has raised the fund for production from 1.5 to 4 million, through European resources.
