Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Exceeds 10 Trillion Yuan in Economic Output Over Past Decade

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, marking a significant milestone in the economic collaboration and growth of the three regions. According to recent data from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, the total economic output of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei has surpassed 10 trillion yuan over the past decade, showcasing a powerful contribution to China’s economic development and regional coordinated growth.

In 2023, the GDP of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region reached 10.4 trillion yuan, a significant increase from the 2013 figures, with Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei contributing 4,376.07 billion yuan, 1,673.73 billion yuan, and 4,394.41 billion yuan respectively. The industrial structure of the three places has also evolved, with a shift towards the tertiary industry, which now accounts for more than 80% in Beijing, over 60% in Tianjin, and exceeding 50% in Hebei.

The emergence of new economies and technological advancements have further propelled growth in the region. For instance, Beijing’s digital economy value increased significantly, while the high-tech service industry in the three places experienced substantial growth. Additionally, the creation of 15.956 million new jobs in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region underlines the positive impact of coordinated development on employment.

Hebei, leveraging its geographic advantage and collaboration with Beijing and Tianjin, has seen accelerated innovation and development.
