Belluno, e-mail and telephone number for the reception of Ukrainian refugees have been activated

The municipal administration of the capital moves after the meeting with the prefect: “We need to register the people who have arrived in the municipal area”

BELLUNO. An email address and a telephone number to ask for information and give availability to welcome refugees from Ukraine: this is one of the first decisions taken by the municipal administration of Belluno at the end of the meeting in the Prefecture this morning, which then explored other operational issues .

Contacts and welcome

At the table, Mayor Jacopo Massaro confirmed the availability of 50 seats at the former Fire Brigade barracks in Via Col di Lana, with the possibility of serving hot meals to guests; the same structure is also confirmed as a logistic center for donations. On the organizational front, the email address [email protected] has been opened where all requests for information and any availability to welcome refugees can be sent; the telephone line 0437/913202 was also reactivated, already in operation during the various Covid waves with the social listening desk, which will be operational in the next few days. “The emails will be forwarded to all the offices involved in the management of the emergency, from the Civil Protection to the Social Services to the Local Police and educational services, under the coordination of the SIRP”, explains Massaro, “while a volunteer from Civil protection”.

Census and swabs

Two priorities emerged from the meeting: “On the one hand, we need to know who has arrived in our territories these days, while on the other it is essential that all refugees go as soon as possible to swab Covid”, underlines the mayor. For the question of tampons, for those who have arrived from Ukraine it is possible to go to the usual points set up by the Ulss on the provincial territory without the need for a reservation. “It is also urgent that those who have already arrived in the city in recent days be registered, so as to be able to guarantee assistance and services to all,” explains the mayor. The invitation to all those who are hosting Ukrainian refugees in their own home or second home is to communicate urgently, to the email address [email protected] or by calling the dedicated line, how many people are involved, their age, any problems, so that we can activate immediately ».

Those who are already present in the area and the next new arrivals must fill in – within 8 days of their arrival in the province – the Declaration of presence, available on the website of the Police Headquarters in the Immigration Area; on the same site, those hosting one or more refugees will find the Declaration of Hospitality form, to be communicated within 48 hours of the arrival of the guests in the home. The forms must then be sent or delivered to the Police Headquarters, where Ukrainian citizens can also go for identification in the absence of identification documents. “These indications are valid only for refugees and hosts in the territory of the municipality of Belluno”, remarked Massaro, “in the other municipalities, these forms should instead be addressed to the mayor”.

“Brake” to donations

The need to “curb” donations also emerged from the table, given not only the problems of management and conservation of materials, but also the difficulty of delivering these goods – which, as assured by the National Civil Protection and the Red Cross, are not even necessary – to a fleeing population. «At the moment, the only need is drugs, and we are equipping ourselves with Ulss, the Red Cross and the Order of Pharmacists since in many cases a medical prescription is necessary; as soon as we have a complete list of necessary medicines, over-the-counter or with a prescription, we will distribute it », underlines Massaro. All other needs – for example diapers, blankets, games, … – will be communicated from time to time by the institutions and will see the logistic center at the former fire station as a collection point.
