Belluno, the Cai draws positive balance sheets, the dream of returning to Nepal

by admin

Many initiatives took place in 2021 and in November, leading to Asia Barp: “An important job has been done, I think, for example, of the Val di Piero”

BELLUNO. The Cai di Belluno closes with a more than positive balance a year full of activities, anniversaries and works always carried out with the sole objective of doing the good of our mountain. Not only shelters and paths, but also training and growth for a section that for 2022 already heralds major projects and unmissable excursions in the area, but even on Monte Rosa … with the Nepal dream on the horizon for next November.

All the information is available in the sectional yearbook, available in the section: “The year was very positive and truly surprising, both for the number of members, which grew to reach and exceed the critical threshold of 1500 units, and for the many activities carried out by the section “, explains the president of the Cai of Belluno, Paolo Barp,” we had foreseen a very demanding program of works and investments and, step by step, everything was carried out on schedule and in the foreseen ways. We were able to finish the works regarding the windows and doors and the restyling of the 7º Alpini refuge; the roof and the photovoltaic system at the Tissi refuge were redone, which was also repainted; the Sperti bivouac was replaced with a new model and many emergencies were faced at the Bianchet refuge, whose facilities had been damaged by the snowfall of the past winter ».

The titanic undertaking in Val di Piero, along the path 502, deserves special recognition: “As many as 15 volunteers and 400 hours of work to restore 12 kilometers of path uninhabitable for years”, recalls the president, “it was an important gift also linked to the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the 7th Alpini and for the 130th anniversary of the foundation of the section, events that have involved us not a little, with a commission, photographic exhibitions, events in the refuges and, to top it off, participation in Oltre le Vette with the Municipal Theater packed with mountaineers and enthusiasts ».

Challenging interventions from a human point of view, but also from an economic point of view: “The realization of all these works has given our treasury work to do, but we have been able to manage everything without ever going to the red”, Barp says.

The year was then enhanced by the conclusion of the training course of Jacopo Gabrieli (regional ski mountaineering instructor), Michela Sovilla, Giacomo Molin Pradel (sectional youth mountaineering guides), Francesco De Col, Matteo Isotton and Federico Bressan (regional protection operators mountain environment); while for 2022 there will be several surprises. The hiking offer, for example, this year includes a large and prestigious calendar from 10 April to 20 October: «We will also offer excursions over several days, with local but also Austrian peaks and, in July, we will go to Monte Rosa. Then the proposal to return to Nepal in November 2022 started, we will see how it goes … », concludes Barp.

«I really believe that next year will be no less demanding; investments are planned in the Tissi: doubling of the water reserve, works on the aqueduct, new terrace and replacement of floors, but there are many commitments in the field of training courses and paths. Finally, I would like to remind everyone that our section offers excellent insurance without deductible for those who go to the mountains and ski at a cost of only 12 euros and many agreements with sports shops and many other services “.
