Blue warning for severe convective weather: Thunderstorms, strong winds, or hail may occur in parts of Hebei, Jiangsu, and other 7 provinces

The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued a blue warning for severe convective weather, alerting residents of potential thunderstorms, strong winds, or hail in parts of Hebei, Jiangsu, and other 7 provinces. The warning will be in effect from 08:00 on April 14 to 08:00 on April 15.

Areas expected to be impacted include southern Hebei, northern Henan, northern Anhui, central and northern Jiangsu, southern Jiangsu, northeastern Jiangxi, southwestern Zhejiang, and eastern Guizhou. Residents in these regions should prepare for short-term heavy precipitation with rainfall reaching 20-40 mm and potentially exceeding 50 mm in some areas.

According to the forecast, the main impact period of strong convection will be from today to tonight. In response to the warning, the government and relevant departments are advised to make preparations for short-term heavy rain, lightning protection, and strong wind prevention. The meteorological department will be conducting manual hail prevention operations.

Residents are urged to reduce outdoor activities, seek shelter away from scaffoldings and billboards, and drive poultry and livestock into covered areas. Those engaged in water operations should consider returning to port, while construction sites should secure outdoor items and cover construction materials. Additionally, residents should check and prepare drainage systems to prevent disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and debris flows.

Stay tuned for further updates and follow safety guidelines to protect yourself and your property during this period of severe weather.
