BOLOGNA A 23-year-old young man was attacked and stabbed to death on Friday shortly before midnight in Castel del Rio, in the province of Bologna, in the Imola Apennines. The young man was called Fabio Cappai, known in the village and worker in a company in the valley. The fatal attack, based on what is learned, broke out for futile reasons, took place in a sheltered spot in the ‘Marco Simoncelli’ center where there are also sports facilities.
A suspect has been tracked down. It is a minor, 17 years old, living in a neighboring country.
In the sports center near via Giovannini, the 23-year-old dead, from the first information he lives in the village, was stabbed in the side, during a quarrel with other young people. The coroner and the scientific section of the Arma are also on site, as well as the investigative unit.
Investigations by the carabinieri are underway, coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office for Minors of Bologna, led by the prosecutor Silvia Marzocchi. At the moment measures are being considered against the 17-year-old and witnesses are being heard in the local police station. The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Apparently other young people would have attended the episode but the suspicions would have focused immediately on one.
