Caluso, the kids dirty the park: mothers protest

For some months the small playground located between the Giacosa condominiums, in via Unità d’Italia, has been used as a refreshment area by some students of the nearby school during their lunch break, before returning to class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And not only. The theme has become how much (dirty) the park is left. «There is nothing wrong with using the playground, God forbid – say a group of mothers -, if the kids then left the park clean. Instead we find ourselves with litter everywhere and lately even with the merry-go-rounds smeared with drinks. A truly intolerable situation ». The mothers also kindly tried to make the students understand that the playground is frequented by younger children. And that it takes a few minutes to tidy up. If the basket is full, the soda cans and the pizza paper must be taken away and not thrown on the ground, among the children’s games and flower beds. Words that went unheard. Here the mothers have sent a report to the traffic police, in the Municipality and the case has also ended up on social networks. “After several days of waiting, the Municipality through the staff office – explains one of the mothers – has sent us a note informing us that it will send the SCS operators for an extraordinary cleaning service”.

But mothers are not enough: they ask for the presence of the traffic police. «At least a few hours a week to monitor the behavior of the boys. They have shown that they have no respect for public places and people. We need to intervene before something more serious happens ».

The playground in via Unità d’Italia, built in the new residential area, is located right between two schools: the primary Giuseppe Giacosa, and the secondary school Gozzano.

The warm season, the comfortable benches and the surrounding lawn make it an ideal place to spend time. Younger children stop in the playground instead, mostly after school, after 16, in the company of their mothers. l.m.
