CASALE. He stabbed her in the back as she lay in bed. Franco Gellussich surprised his wife Flora Mattucci in the room with a knife taken in the kitchen. This is what emerges from the ongoing investigations into Casale’s murder-suicide. No quarrel, no fight: when the carabinieri entered the villa in Vicolo Toniolo they found a house in order, no ornaments out of place or broken, or details that suggest an attack. Probably the drama was over in a few minutes.

The Prosecutor is convinced that the cause of the murder is Gellussich’s depressive state, and to support this thesis the investigators have collected the testimonies of some friends and family who reported how the couple in recent months had proved refractory to the habitual sociability. Yes they would retreat into the housegreatly reducing contact with the outside, and going out less than usual.

On Monday, Dr. Sindi Visentin will perform theautopsy on the two bodies, the examination will serve to place the death of the two spouses exactly in time, presumably which took place a few days before the discovery on Wednesday.
