Perhaps it was meant to be a stunt, a gesture of courage, to climb onto the roof of a freight car parked on the tracks to look at everyone from above. A sort of “train surfing” – the crazy “game” that counts some cases even in Italy – but with the convoy stopped, without thinking that the high voltage cables passed a few centimeters.
Now, in the hospital fighting for his life, there is a 15-year-old boy from Santena, in the province of Turin, who this afternoon around 5 pm boarded a train stationed on a secondary track near the shopping center ” La Vetrina “in Cambiano, the city where the young man goes to school.

The boy was part of a group of teenagers from Santena who had ventured along the railway in the afternoon, right next to the parking lot of the shopping center, where children sometimes pass on foot on their way to Cambiano.
At that moment it seems that the young man was the only one who got on the roof of the wagon. And he was about to get off when he slipped and lost his balance. He accidentally touched the high voltage wires and was electrocuted. When he fell, he also hit his head against another train that was stationary nearby and remained unconscious in the space between the two trains.

Friends immediately asked for help and the first to intervene was a nurse who happened to pass by. He understood that the boy was in cardiac arrest and gave him a heart massage until the 118 health workers arrived. The boy’s heart started beating again, however his condition remains critical: he was transported by helicopter to the CTO of Turin, where he was intubated and the doctors keep the prognosis confidential.
The carabinieri of the Chieri company and the policemen of the Polfer di Porta Nuova arrived on the spot, who are involved in the investigations and who are trying to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, starting from the testimonies of those who were with him.
