these media – pretending to be independent and trying to simulate real journalism – became the mouthpiece of the new coalition before the elections. Enjoying the attention and feeling of importance, they continue to do so even after the elections.

Many of them also enjoy the attacks on traditional media and the fact that the government refuses to communicate with many of them, labeling them as “hostile”.

The situation changes the moment the alternatives are confronted with the same approach. And that’s exactly what happened in front of the press conference of presidential candidate Ivan Korčok on Tuesday.

you are not journalists

Korčok’s team required journalists to be accredited in advance for the press. In the words of a mortal: they had to report their intended participation and the Korčoks had to approve it.

And what did not happen – several “journalists” did not pass the accreditation.

“Good day, we do not accept your accreditation, we grant accreditation only to journalists,” heard Mimi Šramová from the YouTube channel Online Tu a teraz, Pavel Kapusta from Napalete.sk or Hlavný denník. Ouch.

Dominik Papala from Flašík eReport did not attend either. He even came to the hotel reception and manipulatively claimed to the readers that he was accredited by the eReport editors. However, the journalist is not accredited by the editorial office, but by the organizing team of the given event, in this case the press conference. They are the ones who grant the accreditations.

Papala obviously knew that he would get into trouble. Already while arriving at the press office, he filmed a video for fans in which he said that accreditation was needed for the press office, and the editors did not receive a response from the Korčoks.
