Endless negative comments have rained down on Geraldine Fernández, the Colombian who claimed to have participated as an illustrator in the film ‘El Niño y La Garza’‘ by the famous Japanese creator Hayao Miyazaki, one of the founders of Studio Ghibli.

The young woman mentioned that she had made 25 thousand drawings, however, in an interview for Blu Radio she confessed that she had “exaggerated“and it actually worked”in a couple of illustrations and scenes from the film” and not in the entire film as I had commented.
The Barranquilla native also mentioned that her contract was as a freelancer and she was not taken into account in the film’s credits. “They tell me that because I am a foreigner I am part of the animation support houses, that’s why my name doesn’t appear”.
The situation occurred after a media made a publication celebrating that Geraldine had participated in the Golden Globe-winning productionwhich raised the suspicion of several illustrators who highlighted the inconsistencies in the young woman’s story.
