Regarding the article “Valle d’Aosta: a father, social services and the desire to return to being considered a decent man” of 22 us
Dear editorial staff,
on behalf of the separated parent members of the regional headquarters of the VdA, I thank you for the attention you give to the deep discomfort of the children of the separated and their parents who cannot count on two-parenting and co-parenting due not only to a “feared “Justice, too often” hasty “and biased in judging custody, separations and divorces but also a heavy and incomprehensible silence towards their problems by politicians and most of the media unwilling to give a voice to those has no voice not to be “rude” with the institutions, none excluded.
The interview with that father, our partner, who – as we too can confirm – tells of the treatment suffered by unprepared social services, immovable judges and a totally inadequate social policy department, brings out the great dignity of this ” respectable man ”who denounces his pain for having been excluded from the daily life of his children, against their will, due to the indifference and / or known lack of preparation of the social services that should control how the mother exercises the role of co-worker. There is a father who has never renounced his parental duties, while the institutions have canceled his and his children’s rights and, indeed, have covered – in our opinion “maliciously” – their evident and dangerous negligence.
The association for separated parents for the protection of minors (aps) strongly requests that an investigation be opened on the behavior of institutions (social services, department of social policies, court, prefecture, etc.), which, in fact, have not protected – and they continue not to protect – these three children and this man who rightly does not accept being pointed out as a bad father for the incompetence of some psycho-social workers of the ASL, who even went so far as to have him take off his guns hunting only for the dubious statements of his wife who pointed to him as dangerous to himself and to his children for the sole reason that he was a hunter. The social workers, however, were careful not to help him get a job or give him a public contribution considering that he was the one to support the children.
Even more serious is the fact that the accusations of its dangerousness, “reported” by the public social services to the police headquarters, were completely unfounded, as the social workers knew well. The same intervention by the prefecture to remove shotgun and hunting license is completely abusive and incomprehensible and, therefore, even more serious is the not wanting, even now, to restore the abusively expropriated rights.
If this father had been dangerous for his wife and children, the lady would have sued him – which never happened – and the court would not have granted shared custody of the children. So where is the danger of this father?
The institutions responsible for the protection of minors and their parents, with impunity, want to annihilate the dignity of a “respectable” man and father and, on the statements of the father persecuted, in fact, by social services and hasty justice in Aosta, no politician has expressed his condemnation of the absurd treatment reserved for him by the institutions responsible for the protection of minors and citizens. We can attest that the facts reported in the interview are only a small part of those actually suffered due to the arrogance of the social services lobby protected by the relevant councilor.
Allow me to point out – referring to the comment of Aostaoggi.it – that, if it is true that not all social workers are negative elements, it is undeniable that they should openly denounce the behavior of those who fail to comply with professional ethics and that make clear discrimination between parent and parent.
It would be appropriate, in our opinion, that a newspaper like yours, in this matter, call all politicians, the councilor for social services, the ASL and the court itself, where they operate – despite the modest size of the institution – immovable magistrates, who for years and years, but also for decades, have been sitting in the same chair and often show little inclination to true shared custody and equal parental opportunities.
Those responsible for the injustice towards this “respectable” man and father must publicly tell him, his children and all of us citizens how they intend to apologize and compensate, even financially, him and his children for the unjust damage done to them.
