Coronavirus Italy: infections in prison are decreasing, but still outbreaks

Contagions in prisons continue to decrease, while some outbreaks remain. Positive detainees are 397 (out of 52,638): they were 492 on April 26, and the current figure – referring to May 3 – is among the lowest since the beginning of the year. As for the clusters, the main one remains in Reggio Emilia with 58 asymptomatic and 6 inmates hospitalized (but 107 were infected on 14 April). Foggia follows with 58 cases (54 asymptomatic and 4 hospitalized) and female Rebibbia (51 infected, all without symptoms). There are 400 positive prison policemen (369 asymptomatic). Another 46 cases are registered among the administrative and managerial staff of the prison administration. With regard to anti-Covid vaccinations, 18,619 inmates have received them, while 20,178 and 2,151 policemen and administrators have been sent for administration respectively.

In Tuscany 744 new cases, 35 deaths

In Tuscany 744 the new infected by Covid (730 confirmed with molecular swab and 14 by rapid antigen test), which bring to 230,284 the total number of cases of coronavirus positivity since the beginning of the health emergency. Veneto, 745 positives and 12 deaths in the last 24 hours

The numbers of positives in Veneto are back to rise slightly: in the last 24 hours they are 745 (against 721 infections yesterday), while the number of deaths decreases, 12, 4 less than yesterday. The total of the positives reaches 414,972, that of the deceased 11,397. Covid patients are 1,336, 28 less than the previous figure: 1,163 in the non-critical area (-23) and 173 (-3) in intensive care.

278 positives in the Marche in one day

There are 278 covid positives detected in the Marche on the last day among the 2,546 new diagnoses. According to the Health Service of the Marche Region “in the last 24 hours 4,559 swabs were tested: 2,546 in the new diagnosis path (of which 614 in the screening with antigenic pathway) and 2,013 in the healed path (with a positive / tested ratio of 10.9 %) “.
