At 17.30 today, Wednesday 2 March, 36,429 new Coronavirus positives were recorded -10,202 day on day: yesterday they were 46,631, and -25.7% on the week: on 23 February they were 49,040) detected by the daily bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection. The total of those currently infected thus reaches 1,061,610 units. The “positive rate”, ie the ratio between the total number of swabs performed and those that are positive, was confirmed stable at 8.8% (yesterday it had the same value). The data was processed on the basis of the results of 415,288 swabs carried out in the last 24 hours against 530,858 on Tuesday (both rapid antigenic tests and molecular swabs are considered in the count). There have been 214 deaths in the last 24 hours (19 fewer victims than the 233 counted yesterday), for a total of 155,214 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of the one million and a little more Italians currently positive, 9,954 are hospitalized with symptoms in ordinary hospital wards (-502, yesterday they were 10,456) and 681 in intensive care units (-27, they were 708; 40 daily admissions). The subjects kept under medical observation in home isolation are instead 1,050,975 (-11,091, they were 1,073,230).
Campania; -10% in one day for hospitalizations
3650 patients tested positive for Covid in Campania compared to 35484 swabs carried out, of which 22548 antigenic and 12936 molecular. The contagion index stands at 10.3%, down from the 11% recorded yesterday. The deceased – announced the Crisis Unit of the Campania Region – in the last 48 hours are nine, in addition to five dating back to recent days but registered only yesterday. The number of intensive care beds occupied are 42 (-3 compared to yesterday). The drop in ordinary hospitalizations is more significant, passing from 744 yesterday to 673 today (-71).
2,400 new cases in Emilia Romagna, hospitalized drop
There are 2,421 new cases of Coronavirus in Emilia-Romagna, out of 19,283 swabs, a figure in line with that of the last few days as well as the decreasing trend in hospitalizations continues, while there are another 21 deaths in the last 24 hours. Patients in intensive care are 63 (-2), the average age is 61.8 years, while in the other Covid departments they are 1,276 (-76), average age 74.9 years. The contagion situation in the provinces sees Bologna with 571 new positives plus 57 in the Imola district, followed by Modena (285). The active cases are 31,991 (-406), 95.8% in home isolation. The healed are instead 2,806. Among the 21 deaths, ten were registered in the Bolognese area.
In Lazio 126,338 positive cases, 108 in intensive care
There are 126,338 people currently positive to Covid-19 in Lazio, of which 1,287 are hospitalized, 108 in intensive care and 124,943 in home isolation. Since the beginning of the epidemic 944,740 healed and 10,457 dead out of a total of 1,081,535 cases examined, according to the updated bulletin of the Lazio Region.
