Emilia Romagna, 10,167 cases
In the growth trend of coronavirus infections, Emilia Romagna also exceeds the threshold of 10 thousand new cases (10,167), based on an equally record number of just over 62 thousand swabs in the last 24 hours. The strong growth in infections at the moment does not correspond to a similar increase in hospitalizations. 116 patients are admitted to intensive care in the region (-4 compared to Thursday), with an average age of 62.7 years. Of the total, 86 (therefore 74%) are not vaccinated (average age 61.5 years), while 30 are vaccinated with a full cycle (average age 66.4 years). In the other Covid departments there are 1,346 (+13 compared to Thursday), average age 69 years.
Veneto, 9,028 cases and 18 deaths
The new Covid infections in Veneto fall below 10 thousand (exceeded yesterday for the first time): + 9,028 those of the last 24 hours. The deaths on the last day were 18, for an overall figure that reaches 12,383 victims. The new wave is forcing an increasingly significant number of people to quarantine: they are 93,298, +6409 compared to Thursday. The hospital situation is still heavy, with 1,306 (+40) Covid patients hospitalized in medical wards, and 191 (-2) in intensive care.
Lazio, 8,477 cases and ten deaths
In Lazio, out of 111,474 swabs, 8,477 new positive cases are recorded (+2,634), 10 deaths (+4), 1,162 hospitalized (+35), 154 intensive care (+4) and +1,077 recovered. The ratio of positives to swabs is 7.6%. The cases in Rome city are at 4,266.
In Puglia 5,807 cases and 19 deaths
Out of 104,288 tests performed in Puglia, 5,807 people tested positive for Covid in the last 24 hours, a new absolute record of infections in one day, with a positive rate of 5.6%, still up compared to 4.5% on Thursday . There are also 19 deaths. 24,510 people are currently positive, 276 those hospitalized in a non-critical area (35 more than Thursday), 31 in intensive care (1 more than the previous day). This is the subdivision of the new infections by province: in the Bari area of 1.990, in the Bat 520, in the Brindisi area 611, in the Foggiano 900 area, in the province of Lecce 1.217, in the Tarantino 421, 130 are residents outside the region and another 18 in the province in definition. Overall, since the beginning of the pandemic, 309,157 Apulians have been infected by Covid and 6,987 deaths.
In Sicily 5,463 positives and four victims
There is a boom in new Covid cases even in Sicily. There are a total of 5,463 (although the Region specifies that 16 refer to days prior to December 23), out of 62,437 swabs processed, the new infections. On the island, the current positives thus rise to 42,582. In just one day, 839 were healed, while of the 4 deaths (7,502 since the beginning of the pandemic emergency) only 2 have occurred now while the others refer to 29 December. Of the current positives, 749 patients are hospitalized with symptoms, while 98 patients are in intensive care. This is the breakdown of the new cases on a provincial basis: 1,442 in Palermo, 1,100 in Catania, 771 in Messina, 208 in Ragusa, 383 in Trapani, 452 in Syracuse, 297 in Caltanissetta, 388 in Agrigento and 438 in Enna.
