At 16.00 today, Saturday 4 June, 22,527 new Coronavirus positives were recorded (+13,098. Day by day: yesterday they were 9,429) detected by the daily bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection. The total of those currently infected thus reaches 641,870 units. The “positive rate”, ie the ratio between the total number of swabs carried out and those that are positive, stood at 12% (down sharply, yesterday it was 13.33%). The data was processed on the basis of the results of 188,996 swabs carried out in the last 24 hours (much more than the previous day, characterized by a reduced testing activity due to the concomitance of the bank holiday), against the 70,689 of June 3. Both rapid antigenic tests and molecular swabs are considered in the count. There have been 47 deaths in the last 24 hours (seven more victims than the 40 counted yesterday), for a total of 166,922 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of the nearly 650,000 Italians currently positive, 4,442 are hospitalized with symptoms in ordinary hospital wards (-202, yesterday they were 4,644) and 218 in the intensive care wards (-seven, there were 225; 17 daily admissions). The subjects kept under medical observation in home isolation are instead 637,210 (-5,977, they were 643,187). The total of those discharged and healed has largely exceeded 16 million.

In Puglia six deaths and 1,585 cases, 14% of the tests

Today in Puglia there are another 1,585 cases of Coronavirus out of 11,218 tests (incidence of 14%) and 6 deaths. The new cases have been identified in the provinces of Bari (491), Bat (115), Brindisi (101), Foggia (282), Lecce (317) and Taranto (251). Other 19 people who tested positive in Puglia are resident outside the region, while for another 9 cases the province to which they belong is not known. Of the 25,497 people currently positive, 255 are hospitalized in a non-critical area (yesterday 252) and 16 in intensive care (yesterday 18).

In the Marche 548 positives and two victims in the last 24 hours

There are 548 Covid positives registered today in the Marche, compared to 2,535 swabs, including 2,171 in the diagnostic process. The positivity rate is 25.2%, while the cumulative incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants stands at 178.13. The regional health service announces it. In the last 24 hours, two victims related to Covid have been recorded: they are two men, one 70 years old from Ascoli Piceno and one 86 years old from Fano (Pesaro Urbino). Both had previous pathologies. The total number of victims in the Marche region since the beginning of the pandemic thus rises to 3,917.

Emilia Romagna: less than 1,000 infections, five deaths

There are 994 – 1,491,904 since the beginning of the epidemic – new cases of Coronavirus positivity recorded in the last twenty-four hours, compared to 12,580 swabs performed, in Emilia-Romagna where patients admitted to intensive care units drop by one unit, to 28 and of 106, 678, those hospitalized in the other Covid wards. The active cases, that is the actual patients, are 16,523 (1,126 less than yesterday), 95.7% in isolation at home or with mild symptoms that do not require hospital care. The number of those recovered also increased, increasing by 2,115 to 1,458,420. Five deaths since yesterday. In total, there have been 16,961 deaths in the region since the beginning of the epidemic.
