The devices will be distributed to facilities that assist deaf or hard of hearing patients and users
The Valle d’Aosta Local Health Authority will distribute a supply of “transparent” masks that make communication with deaf and hearing impaired people easier. The devices, 320 in all, are available to facilities dealing with care for deaf patients and users.
The masks are made of “non-woven fabric” and are transparent on the mouth to allow the hard of hearing and deaf people to see the movements of the lips. They are “certified as” class 1 medical devices “and comply with all regulations in force”, the health company specifies.
The masks have already been delivered to the medical department of the Cup of the company offices, to speech therapists, to the hospital and territorial rehabilitation service and to the structures where deaf-mute employees work.
