Appeal process bis for Marshal Roberto Mandolini – commander of the Appia station where Stefano Cucchi was taken after the beating – for the compilation of the false arrest report, and for the carabiniere Francesco Tedesco, also accused of forgery. This was decided by the fifth criminal section of the Supreme Court: for this crime, however, the limitation period would be close – in May 2022.
For Mandolini the second instance judges, in May 2021, had ordered the sentence of 4 years, while for Tedesco the sentence imposed on appeal was two and a half years. Now, after the filing of the reasons of the Supreme Court, which tonight annulled the appeal sentence against them, the documents relating to their positions will be sent again to the Assize Court of Appeal of the Capital which, in different composition , will have to review them.
Cucchi, the Supreme Court sentenced the carabinieri to 12 years: it was an intentional murder. Ilaria: “Justice is done”
