Today, Tuesday, the Casablanca Court of First Instance sentenced the main accused in the Badr murder, known as “Ould El-Fashoush,” to death, while it issued sentences ranging from life to five years against the rest of the accused.
The court convicted the main accused, “A.S.”, to death, after he was tried for the felony of premeditated murder preceded by a felony and accompanied by another felony, and attempted premeditated murder and participation in theft combined with the circumstances of polygamy, night time, and the use of violence, then a misdemeanor of violence.
“AR,” who said that he was the one who drove the car and not “Wald Al-Fashous,” was also convicted of life imprisonment.
The court convicted the accused, nicknamed “The Coach,” to twenty years’ imprisonment, five years’ imprisonment for the son-in-law of the main accused, and twenty-five years’ imprisonment for the accused, “A.Z.”
While the court ruled compensation amounting to 500 thousand dirhams to each of the parents of the deceased, 100 thousand dirhams in compensation to his sisters, and 30 thousand dirhams in compensation to the remaining civil claimants.
The five defendants are being prosecuted on charges of premeditated murder, forming a criminal gang, described theft, as well as attempted premeditated murder and participation.
The killing of the young man Badr, who was run over by a car after being severely beaten in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, sparked widespread anger, especially on social media.
