IVREA. There are eight cases of the Delta variant identified from early May to today in Piedmont. There are six Italians and two foreigners asymptomatic or with symptoms of no particular severity. All already healed, or on the mend, their contacts are in quarantine. This was announced by the Piedmont Region. The cases have been registered in the metropolitan area of Turin and in the provinces of Cuneo, Novara and Biella, where there are currently two cases ascertained as a Delta variant, while one
another case is still under investigation. «All the cases identified so far – explains the Region – have emerged thanks to the enhancement of the contact tracing activity and the diagnostic investigations started. The activities of reconstruction of the transmission chains and of investigation and screening of contacts carried out by the Sisp are making it possible to contain the spread of the virus ».
