The facts happened in Piazza Vittoria Monday morning around 8.15 am, when the bike patrol of the brigade noticed the stolen two-wheeler. At the end of a short Chase the young man was blocked and brought into command by a second patrol of the emergency room, who rushed to the scene to support his colleagues.

The person arrested is an 18-year-old Kosovar, residing in Treviso, already known to the local police: a few weeks ago he was in fact found in damage the Dal Negro car park. “Bicycle thefts are a very hateful phenomenon that becomes more pronounced with the arrival of summer,” explains the commander of the local police Andrea Gallo. “The attention on these crimes is very high also because they are often crimes involving bicycles of a certain cost that the authors try to immediately place on the market even through sites that sell used objects or articles”.

Since the beginning of 2022 the judicial police unit has reported for receiving stolen goods about ten subjects: “These are people”, adds Gallo, “who have made reckless purchases of bicycles, even of a certain value, at almost bargain prices without verifying their origin”. Through the video surveillance system it was ascertained that together with the Kosovar there was a partner in crime which served as a pole. He too, an 18-year-old from Montebelluna, has been identified as the perpetrator of a theft of a scooter in the square Santa Maria dei Battuti. Both were reported.
