On July 2nd, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission announced that all district education commissions in Beijing will organize custody services for primary school students from grades one to five. The content of the hosting service mainly includes providing learning places, opening libraries, reading rooms, sports venues, organizing sports activities, etc., but does not organize subject training and group teaching.

Just recently, many elementary and middle schools in Henan also issued plans to require schools to provide after-school services during the summer vacation.

The reason given in the Lu Media report is that this can reduce the burden on parents in need, but it increases the burden on teachers who regard winter and summer vacations as “special benefits”.
