As expected, Donald Trump dominated the Republican primaries on Super Tuesday. In a particularly dark speech, former President Joe Biden called “the worst president in the history of our country,” who allowed “millions of refugees to poison the blood of our country.”

“They don’t call it Super Tuesday for nothing. This was a great night and a great day,” Trump said in a speech from Mar-a-Lago. Trump called Joe Biden the “worst president in the history of our country” and spent a lot of time on things that he believes the president is doing wrong.

“We have millions of people invading our country” along the South, Trump said. “This is an invasion. This is probably the worst invasion. It could be 15 million people,” Trump cited unsubstantiated statistics. “And they come from rough and dangerous places. They are poisoning the blood of our country. We’re going to have to put them outside. We have murderers being deposed in our country. We have the largest, highest level of drug dealers coming into our country.”

Trump surprisingly lost the primary in Vermont, to his only remaining opponent Nikki Haley. He did not say a word about her on Tuesday, but earlier in the day he described her as “crazy” and “very angry”. “She’s gone crazy, and I’ve never seen anything like it,” Trump said in a radio interview. “She has become a very, very angry person, and I don’t think this is going anywhere,” Trump said. “We’ll see if she comes to her senses, maybe she will.”

Haley is “honored” to have received support from millions of Americans

A spokesperson said Haley was “honored to have the support of millions of Americans across the country, including in Vermont where she became the first Republican woman to win two presidential primaries.”

The spokesperson did not clarify whether Haley will continue her campaign. According to NBC News, Trump has already collected 922 electoral votes, and Haley only 92. There may be a few more, but mathematically it seems impossible for Haley to win the nomination.

In the statement, Haley seemed to hint at a continuation of her campaign. “Unity is not achieved by simply saying that we are united,” he said, for example. That seemed to be a response to Trump’s speech, which “very quickly” predicted unity in the party.

“Today, there remains a large bloc of Republican voters across the country who express deep concern about Donald Trump. That is not the unity our party needs to be successful,” the Haley camp said. “Addressing the issues facing voters will make the Republican Party and America better.”
