[NTD News October 16, 2021, Beijing time]After Hong Kong’s anti-transmission campaign, Taiwan’s trust in “One Country, Two Systems” has dropped significantly. The spokesperson of the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zhao Lijian, began to directly declare that Taiwan is “a province of China.”

At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China on October 12, Zhao Lijian said when answering questions about the Republic of China’s accession to the United Nations, “Taiwan, as a province of China, is not eligible to join the United Nations at all.”

“Taiwan is a province of China” is a common expression among Chinese “patriotic netizens.” But it is rare to say from the mouths of CCP officials. Prior to this, the Chinese Communist Party had always declared that it would implement “one country, two systems” in Taiwan. Both Hong Kong and Macau, which implement “One Country, Two Systems”, are called “Special Zones” by Beijing.

Recently, the CCP has repeatedly threatened “armed control of Taiwan,” and officials rarely mentioned “one country, two systems.”

As the CCP continues to increase its military threat to Taiwan, some people have begun to worry that Beijing may accelerate the process of “armed reunification.” However, some analysts pointed out that the CCP is just bluffing. Only when its regime is on the verge of collapse, can the CCP launch a desperate attack and try to save itself by “unifying Taiwan.”

During the “November” period of this year, the CCP dispatched more than 100 military aircraft to disrupt Taiwan in 4 days, setting a new historical record. However, the CCP’s military aircraft fell into silence and did not show up in the Taiwan Strait for several days.

At the same time, the CCP’s military newspaper claimed that the bloody nature of soldiers must be swayed “when the party needs them”, and that “ignoring the overall situation” will cause problems for the party.

Russian President Putin, who has been called a “strategic partner” by the CCP, also publicly stated recently that the CCP “can rely on economic strength to unify Taiwan” and “does not need to use force.” Putin also said that he “has not seen the threat of China (the CCP) using force to resolve the Taiwan issue.”
