The Magangué security forces arrested Deison Sierra Baldovino, known by the nickname ‘el Pepo’, accused of physical and verbal aggression against his mother.
This incident was recorded in the 2 de Noviembre neighborhood sector, when the local community, concerned, notified the authorities about the harassment of a 44-year-old woman.
A police unit immediately arrived at the scene and proceeded to capture Baldovino. Reportedly, the escalation of violence began when the 20-year-old young man, under the influence of alcohol and hallucinogens, attacked his mother for not having reserved food for him. The Attorney General’s Office took jurisdiction over the case, pending a judicial resolution that determines the legal future of the accused for the crime of domestic violence.
Colonel Alejandro Reyes Ramírez, in command of the Bolívar Police Department, emphasized the importance of reporting such acts through Line 155, a service dedicated to assisting women who are victims of violence. Police officer loses finger in violent domestic violence arrest in Villavicencio
In a recent incident that occurred in the Morichal neighborhood in Villavicencio, Meta, a police officer was seriously injured, losing one of his fingers on his left hand while intervening in a domestic violence case. The event took place last Saturday, March 30, when Alonso Estiven Cuéllar Rincón was reported for attacking his wife, which led the neighbors to alert the authorities.
When trying to arrest Cuéllar Rincón, the police faced a chilling situation. Reportedly, during the arrest, the aggressor violently resisted, attacking the officers both in the face and other parts of the body. In an act of desperation, he bit and tore off the ring finger of one of the officers’ left hands. This display of violence led to the need for the support of another police unit to effectively control and detain Cuéllar Rincón, who was then taken to court to be prosecuted for domestic violence and violence against a public servant.
Regarding the injured officer, it was necessary to transfer him to a Police medical center to receive the necessary care. For his part, the victim of the domestic assault also received medical assistance. Likewise, during the same weekend, another act of violence occurred in Villavicencio when a woman was stabbed by her ex-partner, who had previously been reported for domestic violence. Villavicencio authorities point out that so far this year they have captured 183 people related to cases of gender violence, highlighting that many incidents occur on weekends and are frequently associated with alcohol consumption.
