Xi Jinping Emphasizes Reform and Innovation During Inspection in Hunan
During a recent inspection in Hunan, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of adhering to reform and innovation to seek truth and be pragmatic. The goal is to write a chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Hunan.
Accompanied by Hunan Provincial Party Committee Secretary Shen Xiaoming and Governor Mao Weiming, Xi Jinping visited various places in Hunan from March 18 to 21, including schools, enterprises, historical and cultural districts, and villages.
At Hunan First Normal College, Xi Jinping interacted with teacher and student representatives and stressed the importance of providing good education to strengthen the country. He highlighted the need to protect and utilize red resources for patriotism education and to cultivate morally aware students.
Xi Jinping also visited BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Co., Ltd., a Sino-German joint venture, to emphasize the significance of technological innovation and high-quality development for the continuous growth of enterprises.
In Changde, Xi Jinping inspected Changde River Street to learn about efforts to restore historical and cultural districts, promote tourism, and improve rural governance. He emphasized the importance of integrating culture and technology to drive economic growth.
Additionally, Xi Jinping visited Gangzhongping Village to inspect agricultural preparations and reduce grassroots burdens. He underscored the need for food security, research on key technologies, and the promotion of integrated urban-rural development.
During his inspection, Xi Jinping also reviewed the achievements of Hunan in various tasks and outlined the importance of scientific and technological innovation, comprehensive rural revitalization, and strengthening party building.
Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and other responsible comrades accompanied Xi Jinping during the inspection. The visit aimed to showcase Hunan’s contributions to Chinese modernization and the Party’s commitment to progress and development.
