EU Parliament voted for stronger regulation of artificial intelligence

523 MEPs in Strasbourg were in favor, 46 were against and 49 abstained. According to the new rules, developers must clearly indicate that texts, images and sounds created by artificial intelligence are based on this technology.

Furthermore, the EU regulation is intended to guarantee the quality of the data used to develop the algorithms and to ensure that no copyrights are violated during AI development. There should be stricter requirements for “risky” applications, such as critical infrastructure, security authorities and human resources management.
