Feltre, adult and young centini tell their stories: “A success after months of Dad”

BELLUNO. Graduating with honors after a whole school year followed with distance learning seemed impossible: yet they did it, demonstrating that the difficulties generated by the pandemic can be overcome with commitment and perseverance. At any age. Yes, because behind the faces of the protagonists of the 2021 maturity there are not only the young Martina Lirussi, Anna Iannetti, Melissa Penna and Davide De Menech who have achieved 100 at Itc Colotti, such as Daniele Bortolas at Itis Negrelli.

In fact, the list also includes Moreno Mastel, who achieved the dream of a diploma at the age of fifty-one through evening schools. Mastel’s is a particular story. The man is originally from Lamon, but lives in Primiero and for three years, every evening, he attended the mechatronic mechanics course from 6.30pm to 10pm, always traveling by car to Feltre. All for a promise he had made to himself. «I lived in Zurich for many years» says Mastel, «to then move to Italy and learn what I still lacked. I wanted to deepen the culture and school was the best way to do it. In my life I was an electrician and computer scientist but I had never had the opportunity to study mechanics. And along the way I realized that if you don’t study you have very few job opportunities. And so I wanted to get back into the game, completing my professional picture. At my age I could have stopped and said enough with books, but I think that when you make a commitment you have to keep it to the end ».

The desire to get back in the game was not lacking even in boys and girls. «I am happy because the 100 reaches the end of a long journey, which completes an important part of our life» says Martina Lirussi, «that we will never forget. There were difficult moments with the dad, because being far away there was no possibility of relating to classmates: for this reason it was essential to return to face-to-face teaching, as in the last two months of school. Human contact has allowed us to rediscover ourselves. I will continue at the University of Trento, in business management ». «I will also study there» continues my friend Anna Iannetti, «to give continuity to what has been done in these years in high school. For all of us, being able to graduate in these times, with limited learning opportunities, has been a great job ».

«It’s true» continues Melissa Penna, «because the experience in dad was a bit traumatic compared to how we were used to before. There was less desire to study and personally I was more distracted. On my vote I am happy: a surprise. Now full speed ahead with foreign languages and literature in Verona ». «After two years of living like this, with dad, the satisfaction is enormous. A goal reached at the end of a difficult path »says Davide De Menech. His studies in economics in Verona are waiting for him. Daniele Bortolas closes: “I will study communication sciences in Trento, because interacting with each other is important: the dad was a complicated experience: there was no opportunity to feel close. This is why the result obtained made me happy ».
