For the crimes of homicide, feminicide and illicit groups, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) ordered the capture of 186 gang members from two Mara Salvatrucha cliques who commit crimes in two municipalities in the department of Chalatenango.

According to the report, gang members from the Hollywood and Fulton cliques murdered six people. “These subjects have committed different criminal acts, among them the crime of illicit groups, they have committed three homicides and a double feminicide,” said a prosecutor who participated in the capture operation early Tuesday morning.

One of the crimes was carried out on August 2, 2012, in which two merchants were murdered for not paying the extortion that the gang had imposed on them.

While the feminicide was committed on February 27, 2016, the two women were accused by the terrorists of being informants for the National Civil Police (PNC).

«In the same way, two other homicides occurred in which these subjects participated and it was in the context of the open valves, these events occurred on March 26, 2022, in relation to these victims they were people who were also part of the same gang who were not “They complied with the rules that they imposed on them,” added the representative of the public ministry.

It was detailed that as part of the operation they carried out 15 raids in the urban area of ​​the municipality of Nueva Concepción and in the Potrero Sula and Sunapa cantons; also in the municipality of Arcatao.

Some of those captured are: José Luis Contreras Ramos, Melvin Alexander Rivas Pérez, Fátima Yaneth Franco de Cruz, José Amílcar Gómez Torres, Mario Alberto Pineda Orellana, Dennis Obed Arrué Pleitez, Wilfredo Orlando Flores Crisosto, Reyna Isabel Orellana Maldonado, Dimas Mauricio Orellana López, Gerardo Adalberto Avilés Aguilar, William Antonio López Méndez, Katherine Elizabeth Tobar Gómez and Javier Rivera Franco.

In the raids they seized cell phones, vehicles, cash and documentation that will serve to strengthen the investigation and sustain a strong case in court.

“Thanks to the tools provided by the Exception Regime, the majority of these criminals are already in different penal centers and will be notified of the new crimes attributed to them,” highlighted the Prosecutor’s Office.
