Borré moved to Bremen on a short-term loan from league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt for a year in the summer after the departure of striker Nicklas Füllkrug. During the winter break, reports emerged that the Colombian wanted to return to South America. He has scored four times in 13 league games for SV Werder. The 28-year-old still has a contract in Frankfurt until June 30, 2025.
Fritz emphasized that Werder had a say. «Of course we have a say. “It can’t be the case that you loan a player that you don’t have access to,” he said. There are a few parties, he explained further and listed: “Players, advisors, interested clubs, Frankfurt, Werder Bremen – that’s certainly not an easy constellation.”
According to head coach Ole Werner, Borré doesn’t let the unclear situation show during training. “He can separate one from the other. And he’s doing that very well at the moment,” said Werner. “Rafa is a complete professional, does his thing, knows his value to the team.”
