Covering more than 1000 kilometers in one go with a glider using only thermals is something very few pilots can do. Johannes Achleitner from Eferding succeeded in doing this feat. “I worked very consistently towards this goal, but of course everything has to be right for a flight like this, the weather, your own performance and the aircraft,” says the aerospace engineer in an interview with OÖN.
