The government is preparing to partially ease the tightening of anti-Covid measures. With the overcoming of the color system of the regions, the simplification of the rules for schools and the extension beyond six months of the validity of the green pass for those who received the booster. Also because the infections seem to have stabilized and we see the first signs of decline on the hospitalization front. In addition to the fact that vaccinations continue at a rapid pace. Residents in Italy who have completed the primary vaccination cycle, as emerges from the data from Lab24, have exceeded the threshold of 80% of the population. And 53% of those took the third dose
Outdoor masks in the white area
A decision has not yet been taken, but in this perspective the government could also decide not to extend the two measures contained in the anti Covid decree of 24 December 2021 valid until the end of the month. In fact, the obligation to wear a mask outdoors in the white area expires on 31 January (the obligation remains in the yellow and orange area). A measure that currently concerns only three regions (Umbria, Basilicata and Molise).
Discos closed until January 31st
January 31 is also an important date for the managers of discos that until that day are closed by law. The new Sostegni decree approved in the CDM on 21 January allocates ad hoc funds for discos, with suspended withholding taxes, together with the deductions from the regional and municipal surcharge, unpaid VAT and the new deadline for payments postponed to September.
Operators pressing for reopening
But obviously the operators of the sector are strongly pressing for the reopening. The stance taken by the president of Silb of Emilia-Romagna, Gianni Indino, unconvinced by the moves made by the Executive to help the sector of discos and dance clubs among the most affected by the coronavirus emergency. In light of fixed costs that exceed “30 thousand euros per month”, the refreshments of “10 thousand one-off euros per company allocated in the latest decree are an insult to our category” he attacks. And he adds: “The clubs in Ibiza have already announced the dates of the spring openings, will we do it when everyone has already booked their holidays?”
Stop the additional green pass test for those arriving from the EU
Not only. January 31 is also the expiration date of the ordinance of the Ministry of Health which imposed a swab on anyone entering Italy even if they had a vaccinated green pass. An obligation removed, starting from February 1st, by the new ordinance just signed: for those coming from EU countries it will be enough to show the “strengthened” green pass. Moreover, the old ordinance adopted close to Christmas had caused quite a few discontent in Brussels. And on January 25, the EU Regional Affairs Council adopted a recommendation to member countries to use only the Green pass as a discriminator against European travelers (with a clear favor for the vaccinated). Therefore, those who are immunized should no longer be subjected to “additional measures”, such as “entrance tests” or “quarantines”.
