The security services in Gedaref State arrested the perpetrators of the attack that targeted the city of Gedaref with two drones. According to sources, the security services arrested a 2024 Land Cruiser carrying new, unused drones, and seized a number of people who were on board the vehicle in the industrial area of Gedaref.
The terrorist marches targeted the General Intelligence Service building in Gedaref State.
The former editor-in-chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces newspaper, Colonel Ibrahim Al-Houri, said on his Facebook page that the marches caused injuries among a number of citizens.
Eyewitnesses said that two drones targeted the building of the General Intelligence Service and the judicial system, and that ground anti-aircraft weapons responded intensively.
Eyewitnesses said that a drone fell in the mosque of the Security and Intelligence Service building in Gedaref, causing injuries but no deaths. While another drone that fell near the headquarters of the Labor Union was dealt with before reaching its target, while the march targeted the headquarters of the Second Division, infantry in Al-Faw.
The source added that a specialized security and engineering team began examining the debris of the marches and expanding the search for those involved in the crime.
Specialized engineers confirmed that the drones that attacked Gedaref were obtained by the militia through the UAE and are from the family of a light suicide drone, a Chinese commercial drone of the Sunflower-200 model, which is a Chinese imitation of the Iranian drone.
Eyewitnesses from Gedaref said that army units deployed in the streets of the city and in the main market, which is operating as usual so far, despite the state of panic that afflicted some citizens.
The Gedaref State Security Committee raised the level of readiness, according to what eyewitnesses reported about the presence of an intense security deployment, in addition to expected decisions to declare a curfew.
The security services in Gedaref imposed a siege on the areas surrounding the site of the demonstrations, and a Land Rover vehicle suspected of cooperating with those involved in the crime was seized.
The official spokesman for the Gedaref government confirmed that the security situation is stable and life is proceeding as normal in the city center and that investigations are proceeding rapidly.
He said that the state security committee is still in session and it is hoped that it will come out with a number of decisions.
