Garofoli: ready to intervene again on high prices, ahead of the competition

The government is ready to strengthen the measures on high prices, including with reference to the revision of procurement. And it invites you to respect the competition deadlines. «The PNRR and its implementation – declared the undersecretary to the Prime Minister, Roberto Garofoli, speaking at the training school promoted by the Foundation“ Let’s build the future ”- must counterbalance the effects of the even serious crises we are going through. The exceptional increase in the prices of gas, energy and some raw materials is an unprecedented one whose impact on individual projects is being monitored ». The Government, Garofoli assures, “will develop the necessary measures, also reinforcing interventions already prepared, in particular in terms of price review”.

The crisis must not derail the NRP

“What must not happen – added Garofoli – is that the current crisis derails the country from its most ambitious recovery and development plan, with the reformist tension that distinguishes it, with the many projects of which it is composed, decisive for overcoming the profound territorial and gender gaps, as well as the delays in our education, research, technological and infrastructural systems ».

No to delays on competition

During the working session in which he participated, the Undersecretary to the Prime Minister also spoke on the issue of Competition. «With the Parliament – he explained – there was an assiduous and, I believe, also fruitful dialogue. The Government illustrated, for some of the most important issues of the bill, the reasons underlying the proposed liberalization measures. The parliamentary groups have expressed their respective positions and the needs underlying them. In many respects, summary points have been and are being defined. Time must now be taken into account. The approval of the bill and the legislative decrees – concluded Garofoli – constitute precise constraints and one cannot fail to undertake such decisive commitments for the future of the country “.
