Belgium and the Netherlands also hit by the floods

(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 16 – The tragic toll of bad weather and floods in Germany has risen to 103 victims and 1,300 missing, devastating a large part of northern Europe, with an overall, still provisional toll of 118 deaths . Most of the victims in West Germany, also due to a new landslide that overwhelmed homes and cars, in Westphalia, while the huge number of missing people is partly attributable to the inability to communicate due to the network blackout telephone.

Bad weather is also affecting the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. The rivers, swollen excessively by the rain, broke their banks, overwhelming everything. In the Netherlands, a dam has given way in Limburg and 550 families are homeless. Belgium has 20 dead and as many missing, as well as 41,000 people left without electricity. (HANDLE).
