President Gustavo Petro, on a visit to Las Toldas, site of the landslide that left 33 people dead and ten missing, reported that he is preparing an emergency decree to transfer 500 billion pesos from the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) to the Invías, in order to finish the paving of the Quibdó-Carmen de Atrato road this year, and to secure slopes.

He also announced the implementation, with the Colombian Aerospace Force, of an air bridge to avoid speculation in air transport prices.

“This speculation in air tickets, he said, deserves our rejection. There is no speculation about death, that is a business of blood,” he stated.

He added that on January 18, a meeting will be held in Quibdó in which the entire National Government, all the mayors of Chocó and the Governor will participate, not only to look at what has happened with the road, but also other aspects that have to do with it. with a tough situation in the Department.

He added that the Quibdó-Carmen de Atrato road has not had slope treatment, which is the technical cause of the massive landslide that caused the tragedy.
