A real revolution at the top of the Ivrea police force. In fact, he also leaves the deputy commissioner Giorgio Pozza, after the commander of the carabinieri Walter Guida and that of the municipal police Alberto Pizzocaro, not to mention the chief prosecutor Giuseppe Ferrando who will swear in Novara on 9 September.
Pozza will lead one of the most prestigious Turin police stations, the first for territorial extension, that of San Paolo. In his place to direct Ivrea and Banchette will arrive the deputy commissioner Clemente Palopoli, who commanded San Donato in the capital.
Pozza had arrived in Ivrea in May 2019. «I am leaving a more technological police station – he explains – and which has seen more arrests, especially in the first year, even if the crimes have dropped, especially with the lockdown. This would not have been possible without fantastic staff. I thank all the authorities, in particular the chief prosecutor, with whom the cooperation has always been excellent. And I thank our families, in the first place mine, because to do your job well, unfortunately, you often have to take away time ».
In the general of crimes, Pozza recalls two cases that have never stopped. “The abuse in the family in the last period has almost doubled – he explains – and drug dealing has continued even during the lockdown. But we fought it, going back to also seize cocaine that in previous years seemed to have disappeared from the territory ».
Pozza also dedicates a thought to the Canavese area, where he found «a welcoming, inclusive spirit and a great sense of the state and institutions». Many professional satisfactions: “We returned the Castellazzo to the city after 25 years of occupation and we carried out a high-level investigation in the case of the thief killed in front of the Pavone Canavese tobacconist”.
The regret is that of Carnival 2020, suspended for Covid, but which was “the first in which not even an ethyl coma occurred on Fat Thursday”. “Now – he continues -, a difficult period awaits us at the national level, we must understand if citizens will understand and respect the new regulations issued to contain the pandemic”. a.s.
