He denounces the attempted cell phone robbery: “They sprayed me with stinging spray”

SACILE. “They tried to steal my cell phone and sprayed the sting spray in my face.” A young man from Sacile, born in 2002, reported to the carabinieri that he had suffered an attempted robbery on Thursday evening in San Odorico. The investigators of the Sacile company are now investigating the case.

The boy said he was stopped by two strangers on the street under a pretext, as he was returning home from a football training session on Thursday evening. Here is the reconstruction provided to the investigators. He was behind the wheel of the car. They motioned him to pull over. He stopped to understand what was happening, he rolled down the window.

In front of him were two young men on foot. The hood of a sweatshirt hid both faces. They asked him what time it was. He took out his smartphone to check. “It’s 20.50”. At that point, with a sudden jerk, they tried to grab the cell phone, but he held it tightly in his hand and therefore were unable to take it off. The boy told the carabinieri that they sprayed him with a stinging spray and disappeared on foot into the night.

After recovering from the attack, the 20-year-old has reached his home. He took a shower right away, to get rid of the spray residue from his face. The boy’s father then phoned the carabinieri about an hour after the attack, reporting what had happened. The young man was accompanied to the emergency room. Doctors found no consequences or irritation.

The carabinieri proceeded for attempted robbery. Various tests will be developed. In the street where the young man was stopped, there are no electronic eyes, but there are cameras in the surrounding areas. The footage will be examined to see if the attackers were immortalized during the escape.
