The gesture of a volunteer excites the mayor of Montebelluna

MONTEBELLUNA. He retired and, as the liquidation arrived, one of the first things he thought of doing was to take five thousand euros of that nest egg that was reclaimed to him to donate to the Civil Protection of Montebelluna, of which he is a volunteer. Yesterday morning the money was handed over to the mayor of Montebelluna and to the head of the city’s Civil Protection. A nice gesture that of Livio Piva, in favor of the association in which he has been working for years. The solidarity competition in favor of the Montebelluna Civil Protection continues: in fact, a few days ago there was a donation from Banca Prealpi.

But this donation has a special added value. The five thousand euros were received by the mayor of Montebelluna, Elzo Severin, and by the head of local civil protection, Antonio Netto. A gesture of great solidarity with a double value as the donation comes from a volunteer of the same association, who has decided to donate part of his pension payment. The sum donated by Piva will be used for the purchase of new equipment supplied to the Civil Protection volunteers.

“It is really exciting and surprising – underlined the mayor Elzo Severin – to note how the demonstrations of generosity by associations and individual citizens continue to follow one another towards our Civil Protection, which has always been spent on our community and all the more in this last year in which, alongside the traditional activities, a lot has been done also for all those initiatives connected with the management of the Covid-19 emergency. A double thank you therefore to Livio, both for his commitment as a volunteer of the Civil Protection, and for this important and unexpected donation ». –
