An intense rain with wind and hail recorded since 4:00 p.m. in the south of Quito generated 50 emergency calls due to flooding in five sectors.
According to the ECU 911 report, until 5:00 p.m. this Tuesday, February 27, 2024, flooding was reported in:
The Quito Fire Department responded to several emergencies and with suction machines they removed water from the homes.
According to videos on social networks, a white layer covered part of the sectors due to the intensity.
Some streets and avenues were collapsed due to the accumulation of water.
Vehicular traffic was also affected by the storm.
